Electromagnetic Fields Can Affect Pregnant Women’s Babies
A study published in the Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine strapped monitors to pregnant women to measure their exposure to low-frequency electromagnetic fields. These are fields generated by everything from power lines, microwave ovens, hair dryers and vacuum cleaners.
The researchers followed the children over their first 13 years and found that those born to mothers with the highest levels of exposure were three times as likely to have asthma as kids whose moms had the lowest exposure.

Getting Iron Into A Woman’s Diet Reduces Birth Problems–IRON FISH?
Cambodia's women have a major problem with anemia, which has resulted in premature labor, hemorrhaging during birth, and poor brain development among their babies.
Chris Charles, a graduate student from the University of Guelph in Canada, figured out a brilliant way to work with the locals to increase the amount of iron in their diet without changing their eating habits.
Iron pots are expensive, so getting new cookware wasn't an option. Neither was asking them to buy iron-boosting pills. So Charles came up with an idea. He shaped iron blocks like a fish which are 3 to 4 inches long. The locals consider a fish to be lucky.
The person leaves the iron fish in a pot while water boils. This provides the villagers with 75 percent of their daily iron requirement.
Better still, the fishes are only $1.50 each and can last for up to three years. Since the fish was introduced, anemia levels have drastically declined and villagers have started feeling much healthier as a result.
Iron deficiency affects 3.5 billion people around the globe, proving that Charles's idea has world-changing potential.

Triggering The Birth Process
I recently attended a seminar on Brain Gym® where the instructor Renate Wennekes shared some fascinating information of how the birth process kicks in. As it turns out, it’s the baby that starts the contraction process.
First, the mother’s hormones send a signal to the placenta telling it to stop delivering nutrients to the baby. This lack of nutrients forces the baby’s body to secrete hormones that start the birth process.
In effect, the mother’s body is saying to the baby, “if you’re hungry, you’d better get out of here.” It then takes three days of the baby pushing against the mother’s womb for it to open and the baby to be born. This lack of food also primes the baby to want to breast feed as soon as it’s out of the womb.
All I can say is pretty fancy process to get us born!

Genetically Engineered Cows Milk Leads To Twins
A study recently published in the Journal of Reproductive Medicine found that a group of women who consumed milk products from cows given genetically engineered hormones had a five times greater chance of giving birth to fraternal twins than a group of vegans who didn’t consume any milk products.
The study found that the growth hormone used in cows increased ovulations in the women and that the hormone persisted in the women’s bodies after it was consumed. Since the FDA does not require that food manufacturers label genetically engineered foods, the only way to avoid the bovine growth hormone is to buy organic milk.
And once again, if you’d like to make your opinion count about the foods you and your loved ones eat, pop an email to you-know-who…
