Vitamin D May Stop Depression - Especially Winter Depression

In a study published in Nutrition Journal, researchers gave subjects who had a strong possibility of depression either 600 or 4,000 IUs of Vitamin D. They started taking the supplements in the summer and continued through the winter.

A year later, subjects taking both doses reduced their depression. The ones taking 4,000 IUs per day had the greatest response. By starting in the summer the subjects in the study felt better. So...it's not too late to start taking your Vitamin D, especially if you get winter depression.
