Using Black Pepper For Weight Control

blackpepperA preliminary study published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry took a look at the impact of black pepper on weight control.

There is a substance in black pepper called piperine that is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory.

It turns out piperine seems to also be able to prevent fat cells from forming.

The researchers took cells that were destined to become fat cells and exposed them to piperine for 72 hours. The piperine interfered with the genes responsible for the formation of new fat cells without being toxic to other cells.

It also caused a chain reaction that helped keep fat in check. You can find piperine extract online and in health food stores or just grind some pepper into your food.
