Aromatherapy For Alzheimer's Patients

A study published in the British Medical Journal found that lavender and lemon balm can help calm people who have Alzheimer's disease who are agitated. The most recent theory as to why aromatherapy works is that it is due to a chemical in the essential oils called terpenes that are rapidly absorbed through the lungs and could directly affect the nervous system. It's best to spray it around the person's face so they breathe it in.
