STOP THAT RINGING IN YOUR EARS

Twenty million people suffer from tinnitus, which is ringing in the ears. It seems to be caused by the loss of the ability to hear very high frequency sounds. There's now an option called UltraQuiet developed by Martin Lenhardt from Virginia Commonwealth University. He has developed a quarter-size disk that sends high-frequency vibrations directly into the brain, which re-triggers the neurons.

After two months of half-hour vibration sessions conducted twice a week, most of the patients had their tinnitus disappear. While symptoms returned in two weeks, this is still a big change for people who suffer with tinnitus.
