DEPRESSION – THE #1 CAUSE OF DISABILITY AND #11 CAUSE OF DEATH IN ADULTS
Depression can be deadly. Not taking steps to combat it can lead to disability and death. More research is showing that people who are depression prone react to ongoing stress by secreting stress hormones in the body that damage neurons in the brain. The more you can do to keep your stress levels down the better of you'll be.
Here's an easy test that will tell you if you're depressed. If you respond "yes" to five or more, then you need to seek professional help: (Indicate "yes" or "no" to the following questions)
Difficulty concentratingLoss of interest in activities you normally enjoyChange in appetite or weightInsomnia or oversleepingFeelings of sadnessPhysical slowing, agitation or anxietyFeelings of worthlessness or inappropriate guiltPersistent thoughts of death or suicide
