Carnosine May Help Prevent Cataracts

A study published in the journal Biochemistry reported that carnosine, which is an amino acid, may help to prevent or even treat cataracts.

The researchers looked at the tissue cultures of rat lenses and found that carnosine could help prevent cloudiness on eye lenses and could also restore clarity to clouded lenses. In their research, the cultures treated with carnosine developed 50 to 60% less cloudiness. It also restored most of the clarity to clouded lenses.

So…even though this was research done on rats, if you are experiencing cloudiness on your eye lens, you might want to experiment with taking l-carnosine.
