SINCE PRAYER IS SO IMPORTANT


 
A book by Dr. Harold Koenig, The Handbook of Religion and Health, contains 1,200 studies that have been done validating spiritual activity to everything from greater longevity to less depression. Thirty-three medical schools now have classes on spirituality's effect on the body.

One example is a study of 4,000 people aged 65 and older that found that those who frequently attended services, prayed or studied scripture were 40 percent less likely to have high blood pressure.
