A new study on using the power of the mind to heal irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) was recently reported in the journal Pain.
In this study, patients were given a placebo pill and were even told that there was no active ingredient in the pill; yet, 70% had their symptoms improve verses a control group that wasn’t given any pills at all.
In the study there were 262 IBS suffers, and they were divided into three groups. One group was the control group and weren’t given any pills to take. The second group were given the above pill and told there was nothing active in it. The third group was part of a double-blind group where some got the placebo pills, and some got a pill with peppermint oil in it.
Both the second and third groups had similar positive responses with an amazing 150% improvement in their IBS symptoms. The control group that didn’t take any pills had only a 12% improvement in their symptoms.
These kinds of studies may be moving the medical profession to attempt to understand why a person can be told that they are taking a placebo and it will still cause a dramatic positive improvement. With the work I do with muscle checking, I know how powerful our minds are and what a great potential there is for us to tap into it for greater healing!
