Levels of Autism Can Change

Levels of autism in this country are now around 1 in 54 kids becoming Autistic. Until recently, the thought was if you child had autism there wasn’t much you could do about it. They would always have it.

A recent study reported that’s not the case. The researchers found that around 30% of kids with autism have seem their symptoms become less severe between the ages of three and six. For a small group, their symptoms even completely disappeared.

The girls in the study were more likely to see the improvement and children with higher IQs were also more likely to see improvement.

The researchers did find that around half of the 125 children that they tracked stayed the same and 16% even had their symptoms worsen.

While the researchers don’t know why these changes happened, they do think it is related to the substantial brain growth that children experience during these years.

One place to look for a even more positive model is the Amish people. Their autism rate for their kids is zero. That’s right 0. The Amish don’t vaccinate their children at all. They eat organically and they don’t have all the electronic equipment around them that we have around our kids.

Just a thought to consider for your children would be to at least feed them organic foods and reduce the amount of electronics their exposed to. Also, check out www.braingym.org, as some of their practitioners have had great success working with autistic kids.
