The average preschooler carries around 1 to 2 pounds of bacteria - about 5% of his or her body weight. These bacteria have 3.5 billion years of experience in resisting and surviving environmental challenges. In addition, there are many bacteria that are beneficial to our system. So-the idea of creating a germ-free environment won't solve our problems. Germs and bacteria also serve a valuable function. They help to stimulate and train our immune system to fight back. So-if you have kids think twice before you jump into giving them antibiotics. You can search my prior Teplitz Email Reports for natural options when your kids are sick. REGULAR SOAP VS. ANTIMICROBIAL SOAPS
Here's some interesting stuff reported in Discover magazine.
Ninety-five percent of bacteria found on our hands are under the fingernails.
Antimicrobial soaps may help spawn bacteria resistant to antibiotics.
Soap by itself is also very powerful. The only thing is we need
to wash our hands for 15 seconds to wipe out most of the organisms. Within 5
seconds of soap hitting our skin dormant viruses and bacteria like E. Coli gets
caught in the soapy water. The soap tears off the outer coating of flu viruses.
It will also flush away yeast and staph. Remember it will take 15 seconds for
all of this to happen.
