Something You Can Do About Ukraine

While I normally write about health and wellness, this war in Ukraine can and is affecting the health of the entire world!

As we have all be watching the craziness happening in Ukraine, I got an email from a good friend that can at least give each of us a way to impact the companies that are still operating in Russia.

Since the invasion of Ukraine began, over 450 companies have announced their withdrawal from Russia—but some companies have continued to operate there.

Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, a Yale Professor of Management, has made a list that sorts companies into 5 categories, ranging from those who have cut off all operations in Russia to those that insist on doing business as usual.  The list is updated on a regular basis.  The list can be used to decide which companies you are going to buy from.  For instance,  Georgia-Pacific is a subsidiary of Koch Industries, which has refused to cut back operations in Russia.  Therefore, you could choose to email the company and tell them that you won’t buy Brawny paper towels or Angel Soft toilet paper unless they leave Russia.

The list is available at:  https://som.yale.edu/story/2022/over-400-companies-have-withdrawn-russia-some-remain. If you scroll down towards the bottom, you’ll find those companies that have not left.
