How to Improve How Your Kids Do in School

It’s getting close to back-to-school time and after this crazy year of virtual and partial in school learning, you might want to know how you can improve how your child will do in school.

There’s actual a simple solution and that’s to get your kids running which is aimed at improving the kid’s cardiorespiratory fitness. It turns out that this also improves their mental powers.

Researchers at the University of Geneva assessed the mental sharpness and fitness of 193 school children between the ages of 8 and 12. They had them do some running exercises before having them complete nine cognitive tasks.

The researchers found that the children who were the fittest had the highest marks in math and on French tests (remember, this was done at the University of Geneva).

An even more important connection was in the children’s ability to carry out tasks which had the most direct impact on their school performance.

So…maybe the idea that gym class is actually really important to learning has to be reemphasized in our school systems. We need to realize especially with kids going back to school soon that learning is more than the 3 Rs and that exercise has an important role to play in a child’s success.
