Speeding Up Recovery From Knee Replacement Surgery

This past Wednesday my wife, Elizabeth Balcar, had Knee Replacement Surgery.

I want to share a number of things with you that has made her recover different than it is for most people.

1. First of all, the Surgeon, Dr. Michael Higgins, that Elizabeth selected uses a very different technique to the surgery which speeds up the patient’s recovery time and reduces the difficulties in recovery. To begin with, he only makes one incision. Next, he doesn’t cut muscle or tendon. He moves then over to the side and works under the kneecap, which in her case, he was able to save. Also, he does the surgery robotically.

2. For many years, Elizabeth has been doing Pilates private therapy and group classes as well as Physical Therapy related strengthening the knee in an attempt to avoid surgery. When she decided to have the surgery done, she moved into strengthening for the surgery.

3. She has been studying Homeopathy for many years on her own and last year enrolled in what I would call a Master’s Degree level training program using a different approach to Homeopathy. (I’ve been impressed with the results I’ve had from using what Elizabeth has been recommending for me and so have her client’s been impressed with the results they’ve been getting from her recommendation, too – Elizabeth also works one-on-one clients using a process she developed called Quantum Field Clearing).

4. She’s been using a devise that produces micro-currents that are targeted for specific healing purposes in the body. One of the microcurrent programs she was able to select is for After Surgery which runs 8 hours at a time and she’s been using it multiple times.

5. We’ve been keeping her knee iced.

6. She put herself on a number Homeopathic remedies both prior to the surgery, right after the surgery and she continues to take them.

7. For pain, she is also taking most of the drugs the Surgeon prescribed. With the Opioids, she only been using ½ at a time.

8. Last night, she woke me up twice because she had to go to the bathroom and not because she was in a lot of pain.

So, what have the results been in a short period of time. These are what other people have said about her recovery since we have no way to judge her level of improvement.

A. First of all, the Nursing staff at the Hospital where the surgery was performed was quite surprised at how soon after her surgery she was able to leave the hospital and they all commented on that.

B. On Thursday, she saw her micro-current specialist. The staff person who greeted Elizabeth had worked in recovery for a number of years. She was very impressed with Elizabeth’s progress in 24 hours.

C. The micro-current specialist who has worked on many patients after knee replacement surgeries, was also very impressed with how Elizabeth was progressing. She hooked Elizabeth up to multiple micro-current machines to work on different aspects of her recovery.

D. Today, she saw a physical therapist who specializes recovery after surgeries, and she said Elizabeth was 2 to 3 weeks ahead of where other patients are 3 days after surgery.

Now all this doesn’t mean that Elizabeth has no pain and discomfort. It does mean, based on the feedback from the professionals is that she is way ahead of the curve in her healing process.

So, do you have to had lots of pain after a knee replacement surgery or not. A case study of one person, my wife, is definitely on the maybe not side.

I’ll keep you informed about her progress.
