How to Stop Macular Degeneration

The words Macular Degeneration (MD) are not pleasant words since MD can lead to a person becoming totally blind. That happened to one of my Aunts.

Well, there are now several things you can do for yourself to stop Macular Degeneration.

The first thing is simple and it’s to exercise. Researchers have found that regular exercise reduces the overgrowth of blood vessels in the eyes that occurs with MD by around 45%. This can make the difference between losing your sight or not.

The researchers from the University of Virginia School of Medicine found that all it takes is what they called low levels of exercise to stop MD. They think the reason exercise works is because it increases blood flow to the eyes.

The second method is a new one on me. It’s using a small LED light with a deep red beam according to researchers from University College London.

They recommend using the light for 3 minutes every day. They found this can even reverse eyesight that has started to deteriorate. The researchers found that a person’s ability to see vision contrasts improved by 20% just by using the LED light for a few weeks.

It seems that your retina’s cells age faster than any other cells in the body which can lead to a 70% reduction in the retina cell’s ability to function. The researchers believe that the LED light is rebooting the retina cell’s ability to function the way it’s supposed to.

So…I’m going to stop writing now, so I can walk to the store and buy the LED light to aid my vision! Or you can do it the unexercising way and do a Google search for “a small LED light with a deep red beam.”
