Getting the Moisture Out of Takeout Containers

Now for what I call a Lite Teplitz Blog Post. You may still be uncomfortable sitting in a restaurant and ordering a meal, so you do takeout or delivery instead.

When you open the container in your house, you might find a lot of moisture has collected in the box. So can anything be done to prevent the moisture build up, so it doesn’t change the taste, texture or look of the food. It turns out the answer is now a YES!!

A company has developed a product that they call SAVRpak and is being used in more than 20 countries. SAVRpak is a peel-and-stick patch that that goes inside the takeout container. What the patch does is it absorbs the moisture from the air inside the food container before it turns into condensation on the surface of your food.

It even minimizes food waste by keeping the food from getting soggy and unappealing (think mushy taco shell). The company has even signed a deal with DoorDash.

So…when you order takeout food ask the person taking your order if they use the patch in the container (you’d better say SAVpak patch and give a little explanation; otherwise, they may send you to the Emergency Room!).
